Borsh travel guide: where to stay and what to do
Our host guide to Borsh in southern Albania: the long pebble beach, where to stay, how to get here and the sights worth a day out.

Borsh is a village on the Albanian Riviera, on the coast road between Himara and Saranda, across the water from Corfu. We are Lindi and Koço, and we run Vila Borsh, a small family house with two holiday apartments by the beach. This guide is what we tell our own guests before they arrive.
The village and the beach
Borsh has two sides. The old village sits on the slope below the castle rock, and olive groves run from there down towards the sea. Along the coast is the beach: about 7 km of pebbles and clear water, one of the longest on the Riviera. Most guests spend their days down here, and our guide to Borsh beach explains what the shore is like and what to bring.
Where to stay
Vila Borsh is by the beach, below the village. We have two apartments, each with its own kitchen, bathroom and a balcony facing the sea:
- a one-bedroom apartment for up to 4 guests
- a larger apartment for up to 6 guests
Compare both apartments and send us your dates. We reply personally, and nothing is charged online.
Getting here and around
Most guests come via Corfu, with the ferry to Saranda and about 50 minutes up the coast by car, or via Tirana airport, about 4.5 hours south by car. Our getting here guide compares the routes. Once you are here, the beach needs no car at all, but for day trips a car makes life much easier.
Days out
Borsh castle stands right above the village. Porto Palermo is about 15 minutes north, the Blue Eye spring about an hour away and Butrint about 1.5 hours. Our page on things to do near Borsh sorts them by effort.
Before you book
Summer is beach season, but June and September have their own appeal: see when to visit Borsh. For practical questions about the apartments and enquiries, the FAQ collects the answers we give most often.
